Brakes feel spongy, weak, or forklift doesn't stop effectively - stop using the forklift immediately

Brake issues are a serious safety concern

Check brake fluid level

Locate reservoir and check fluid level

Test parking brake

Ensure parking brake engages and holds on incline

Listen for unusual sounds

Squealing or grinding indicates worn brake pads

Look for wet spots around brake lines and wheels
