Forklift Wheel Rims
The wheel rim is a profiled steel band which supports the tyre. If a nave plate is welded into the band to the appropriate specification this is then termed a wheel. Some rims do have a hub mounting plate (nave) and are attached to the hub by a matching taper under the lock ring gutter, these are known as DEMOUNTABLE wheels. There are several types of rim technically known as well-base rim (typically known as one-piece): The wheel disc or nave is the element linking the rim and the axle hub. The strength of the wheel is approved by all wheel manufacturers. Wheels and rims only tend to get damaged if the tyres are allowed to wear below an acceptable level which in itself can cause damage to the forklift truck or industrial machine. The safety of the machine is also affected greatly.
